This week, the Eu-BEST project reached a big milestone: the successful completion of our Critical Design Review (CDR) - a key checkpoint in the journey of developing our rocket engine test bench infrastructure.

📍 The review took place in person at the Institut d'Estudis Espacials de Catalunya - IEEC offices in Barcelona, Spain, where teams from across the Eu-BEST consortium came together alongside members of our advisory board from CNES, ESA, DLR, and the European Commission, as well as several of our in-kind contributors who’ve been supporting the project from the start.

Over the course of a few packed days of discussions, feedback, and real teamwork, we dug deep into the technical design, challenged assumptions, and validated the work done so far. The CDR gave us the chance to step back, reflect, and test the maturity and coherence of our system.

✅ The result? A strong confirmation that we’re on the right track - along with some valuable input to guide the next stages of the project.

More than anything, this milestone was a reminder of how powerful it is when different minds come together with a shared goal. Everyone brought not only their expertise, but also openness, curiosity, and a real sense of collaboration.

We’re incredibly grateful to all who took part and contributed their time, insights, and energy.

And a special thank you to the IEEC for hosting us and making this milestone possible in such a welcoming setting! 🌟
